It is markedly different in the US than in Canada; I had no idea...It also depends on the region of the US. The Northeast is very traditional and hard to "break into". It was a long and challenging transition for me; even the nursing environment wasn't familiar as the local accent was so strong I felt like a complete idiot when I didn't understand very basic things...Now, of course, it's "all good!" We're settled in and I have developed some very special friendships with like minded people. As far as my travels in Canada, I've been to the Gaspe region of Quebec and the farthest west I've been is Hamilton Ontario. Of course, Niagara falls was my favorite; so magestic...I've always wanted to go out west. My sister spent a summer out in Banff and would tell me stories of an Elk that would wanter through the town on a regular basis. I so want to see the Canadian Rockies one day...I know people who moved to Vancouver and have friends in Toronto, Ottawa and Kingston. I haven't traveled too much in the US; Disney, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, New York City (loved the place, the city actually hums; it's alive, I swear). I've done some skiing and camping in Vermont and New Hampshire. Boston is close by but it's very hard to get around (easy to get lost; the saying is: you can't get there from here...LOL) so I go there sparingly. Most of my traveling before the kids was in Europe...LOVE IT. Now, we basically drive back and forth from Montreal to RI visiting family. WELL, that was long...As for healing touch, I checked out the website and they don't have any courses available that I wouldn't have to stay overnight at hotels, etc. Nice to meet you too! Love & Light, Liz :-)

I am from BC. They offer courses here quite often in healing touch at level 1. And I believe the cost was $150.00 but it's probably a long trip and expensive for you to come here and take it. But if you are interested I can get in touch with the local group and see when the next set is available and costs etc... Healing touch seems to be more acceptable I think because a group of registered nurses got together and developed it. They use lingo that doesn't scare people who don't believe in spiritual healing. As far as I'm concerned it's still energy and spiritual healing. How do you like living in the states compared to Canada is it much different? I've only ever been to Buffalo, new york state, Detroit and Maine. I was born in Calgary but grew up in Burlington and Hamilton Ontario. We have relatives in New Brunswick so I have travelled across Canada many times. There is a website for Kitimat I don't remember the address but if you do a search for Kitimat, British Columbia you should be able to find it. I live in the middle of a rain forrest. Which is awesome for wild foraging of herbs, berries, roots etc. We just finished fiddlehead season so I have a pile of them in my frezzer. Nice to meet you. Love and Lite. - Tracy

I love to see nurses, and doctors of western medicince starting to use reiki and other methods such as healing touch. We actually have a 3 year course in BC Canada that is called the Integrated Energy Practioner. You attend 4 times a year a week at a time and so many weekend workshops as well as lengthy practicums and case studies. My friend is taking it and she said half of the people in the course work in the medical field. Were you a nurse first or a Usui Reiki master first? I wish you had been my nurse in the pain clinic although I did get some healing touch done which was quite good. Light and Love to you and yours - Tracy
